Info about the Triumph Street Triple Cup 2014
After initial technical and weather-related problems at the Sachsenring and in Hockenheim, Tim scored a sensational double victory in Oschersleben, also double victory in Most
Quadruple triumph at Hockenheim
Several rounds of various international motorcycle racing series took place at the Hockenheimring this weekend. Among other things, two races each were started in the Motolightweight class of the German Circuit Challenge and in the Triumph Street Triple Cup.
Young Tim Holtz (15) from Nienburg, who is entered in both series, therefore had to contest a total of four races in one weekend, although three of them took place on Saturday afternoon alone. He was able to win the qualifying sessions in a commanding manner, and in all the races he thus always started from the first position. The first race in the Motolightweight class was started at 3.30 p.m. and Holtz got off to a good start as usual with his KTM Duke 690 and was already leading by more than four seconds after two laps.
Unfortunately, he then had a mishap when braking before a corner, he came against the ignition key of the machine and switched it off. Without engine he rolled out on the edge of the track, restarted and drove, meanwhile dropped to 7th place, behind the top of the field.
The leader now had a lead of more than 8 seconds over Holtz, who set off in pursuit with a fair amount of anger in his stomach about his mistake. Within 5 laps he had regained the lead and was able to pull further away. He won the race by a good margin. In the break until the next start, it was important to gather new strength and recover, which was not easy with an outside temperature of over 25 degrees.
At 6 p.m. the start of the first race of the day in the Street Triple Cup took place. With his rival Ole Bartschat, last year's winner from Lüchow, he fought for position and both pulled away from the chasing group more and more in the course of the race. At the finish, Holtz was just one second ahead of Bartschat, but both outclassed the rest of the field by over 16 seconds.
Immediately after the finish, Holtz had to make a short sprint through the pit lane, as the start of the next race was just around the corner.
Despite the two previous exhausting races, he managed an impressive start-finish victory here with his KTM.
The second round of the Street Triple Cup then took place on Sunday at noon.
As usual, Holtz and Bartschat quickly pulled away from the field, but Bartschat crashed after a few laps and was unable to continue the race. Holtz won the race, thus adding four victories to his tally from four starts in one weekend.
Double victory Brno
Tim Holtz finished the race series in Brno with a double victory, but because competitor Gabriel Noderer did not mishap, Tim just missed the title.
Season 2017
After successfully competing in the 600cc class over the past few years, Tim Holz moved up to the Superbike class for the 2017 season on a Yamaha R1.
Although he was unable to compete in all races due to school and training, he won the Pirelli Superstock 1000 Series and also picked up the winner's trophy five times in eight starts in the International Bike Promotion Championship.
